About Laelia Watt
I am a collage artist who works mainly with tissue paper and acrylic paint. My degree is from the University of Arizona and my studies in creative writing and equine science inform my artwork in that I love animals and the element of story. I grew up with an artist mother and a horticulturist father who both taught me to see the world in a whimsical manner and instilled in me a love of nature . Paper is my favorite art medium as I love the tactile nature of building a scene or subject with each layer of paper. Acrylic paint is another favorite medium, so I like to paint details on my work after the glue dries to give the collages even more depth. It creates a painterly, whimsical aspect. I hope that my work brings people joy.
